Jesus in the Hood was written by the youth of Matrix Theatre Company and is a modern interpretation of the Gospel of Luke as if it were set in present day Southwest Detroit. My designs for this show were based on classic religious motifs mixed with modern street wear. The purple shirts were originally intended to represent the way some gangs honor the deaths of important members, but the director instead chose to use them through out the 2nd act of the play.

Jesus in the Hood- Spring 2007
